Chandrayaan-1 is India's first mission to moon. The Indian PSLV rocket took off on 22nd October, 2008 Morning, to begain process to establish Chandrayaan-1 satellite in orbit around moon
(Chandrayaan explained).
Isro intends to prepare a three-dimensional atlas (with a high spatial and altitude resolution of 5-10m) of both near and far side of the moon and
to conduct chemical and mineralogical mapping of the entire lunar surface for distribution of various elements.
22 October 2008: PSLV Rocket had a perfect take off and Chandrayaan-1 is on its way to moon!
25 October 2008: Today Chandrayaan-1 has gone beyond any Indian Made Rocket /Satelite has ever gone. It is aprox.75000 Km from Earth.

In about 25 minutes after the Moon Impact Probe(MIP) with Miniature Indian flags painted on four sides, descended from the Chandrayaan-I, MIP landed on moon in a perfect operation. This marks India's symbolic entry into moon, making it fourth nation in world to do so.
